Not all Scandinavian black metal is about burning churches (well, the good stuff is). Some of it involves indigenous folklore and getting really fucked up in the woods and dancing around a bonfire or something. If Gogol Bordello and Satyricon are in your record collection (I’m guessing there’s about two others of you out there), you’ll probably be stoked on Finnish “pagan folk metal” troubadours Finntroll. They’re new album, Ur Jordens Djup, will make its debut in the States on April 14th, but you can check out a track off of it (”Korpens Saga”) on their MySpace page. They’ll also be touring the US with their new vocalist Vreth (armor class: -2) this fall. Dates after the jump.
