But you probably knew that already. If not, here’s a tidbit from the latest issue of Seattle Sound Magazine:

On-Stage Meltdown of the Year: Mars Volta at Endfest
a Mad-Lib by Andrew Harms

The Mars Volta performance at Endfest will be tough to forget. I don’t think I have ever seen more elitist, hypocritical, whiny babies take the stage. The band was obviously agitated from the start. A couple songs in, they launched into a tirade belittling the crowd with lines like “You all suck major label [NOUN].” Coming from a band on Universal Records, what did those [SINGULAR NOUN] bags expect?

After some technical problems with their guitars, the Volta said, “This is what happens when you play a show on an ancient Indian burial ground.” After a couple more snappy one-liners like that, a proactive concertgoer threw a bottle of mystery liquid (the band said it was piss) at the stage. The band threw down its guitars and left, no doubt to collect the tens of thousands of dollars they asked to do the show.

I saw Mars Volta play in Sacramento opening up for another group of major label [NOUN]suckers, A Perfect Circle (who fucking rocked) sometime last year. Unfortunately, there were no self righteous antics, and I had to sit through MV’s entire set.
