What up yall!! Yes, yes, I know…it has been quite a while since I made a post. What have you been doing with your life Mark? Are you on drugs? The answers are that I have been a tad busy with life in general and yes I am on a few drugs. The most recent are Final Fantasy XII and Gears of War. Your go-to man for the electronic entertainment industry has been himself electronically entertained this fall. I recently acquired an Xbox 360 since after about February of 2007 there will not be many more quality releases for my best friend for the last 6 years, the PlayStation 2. It was a tough choice of which console to get next and many may be surprised with my choice. Fashback to 1997 when I made the decision to move from two generations of Nintendo consoles to Sony's camp. What was it that made me switch allegiance? Final Fantasy VII, baby. And I think I made the right choice. So two generations of Nintendo, then two generations of Sony, and now on to Microsoft. Yeah I am a whore. It could be argued that I have made all the right choices in systems this far, so lets hope it continues. And what game was it that got me to get a 360? Gears of War, baby. This game is one of the best in a while. For those of you unfamiliar, Gears of War has been hyped as the killer app for the 360 touting an amazing all around package of sound, visuals, and gameplay. It is fun, bloody, total eye candy, and rocks a limited but massively addictive multiplayer mode. Created by Cliffy B., who also developed Unreal, and you should know what type of experience you are in for. Check the pic below. If you have a 360 you MUST buy this game. If you don't have a 360 you should think about getting one. The first quarter of 2007 is going to have some quality releases for Microsoft's machine as well.

Lost Planet is Capcom's new title that is looking really good. You can download both the regular and multiplayer demo from Xbox Live right now so I suggest you check it out. Blasting aliens on your feet and in mechs is always good in my book. The multiplayer demo has been pretty hectic too.

Also in January comes Alan Wake. This game is developed by Remedy who is responsible for bringing us one of my favorite series, Max Payne. The story revolves around a suspense/horror writer who has lost his inspiration and moves to a small mountain town to start anew. Alan Wake looks very creepy and interesting. If it is anything that Max Payne was then it will be a must-have.

Possibly my favorite series ever, Winning Eleven (or Pro Evolution Soccer if you live in Europe) will be headed to the 360 for the first time as well. This game makes minor tweaks every year but continues to gain new licenses for teams and is the best soccer series ever. Look for this January/February time.

John Woo Presents Stranglehold is from Midway and has been hyped pretty well. It stars Detective Tequila (Chow Yun-Fat) from the movie Hard Boiled and looks to be the closest video game representation of a Hong Kong action movie.

Forza Motorsport 2 is the Microsoft's racing simulator series to rival the amazing Gran Tourismo series on Sony's consoles. I have played every Gran Tourismo title and it is my personal favorite, but if you are a racing fan and only have a 360, this is your game.

So enough about the whole new library of games that I now have access to with my Xbox 360. Do expect many more 360 reviews to come though!! If that hasn't taken up enough of my time than Final Fantasy XII sure as hell has. This game was pretty slow to get into, but it will not let go of me. I keep trying to play other games, and I have been, but I always come back to FFXII for more. Must…level…up… Yeah, its bad that I am always thinking that but the results are oh so good. A seriously amazing looking title for being on the PlayStation 2, FFXII should not be missed by RPG fans.

So again, I know everyone has been bummed not knowing what is going on in the land of gaming without my posts but rest assured they will pick up again. COMING SOON…my thoughts about the next-gen war between the Wii, 360, and PS3.
