Well Jelly NYC has finally done it, gone and made Williamsburg, Brooklyn a mecca for free music and wet and wild fun every weekend! Former McCarren Pool, a dried up and vacant community swimming hole in Brooklyn has been transformed into a summertime party plaza for all those indie rock fans. Artist such as the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Sonic Youth, Neco Case, the Shins, and Wolfmother make up the headlining shows which aren’t free, but give way to raising money to someday re-open the community pool from what is said. Sunday’s however are totally free, with awesome rock acts such as Deerhoof, The Walkman, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Dead Meadow, Spank Rock, and Gang Gand Dance. If your in New York, there are still two weeks of free shows, dodgeball and slip n slides each Sunday. Don’t forget your swimsuit, beer coolers, and sarcastic smiles.
