It may not be “Precious” but it’s pretty damn good

So, I stumbled on the new Depeche Mode video for their new single “Precious”… Ok, I lied… I found it on a message board. And so I watched it. It’s not finished (lots of storyboarding and CG need to be added) and I have no idea how iFilms got their hands on it, but, hey, not too shabby.

I used to be a huge DM fan, back in the day… Speak & Spell… Construction Time Again… And I’ll be honest, this song is pretty damn reminiscent of vintage DM… Probably the best thing they’ve done in years… Does it get me excited to hear more? No. I’ll never be a HUGE fan again… But throw me a few new tracks every now and then and I’ll probably enjoy the music more instead of the silence.

UPDATE: Apparently some stunade from QFilms, the company who was doing the video, put up the video on an unsecured site and a fan found it and posted the link… So when that happened, they broke the link… To quote Medazzadoll, “That dude is so fired!”

I actullay really like this song!!! It may even be the best thing they have released in years! (AND HERE COME THE REMIXES)

I wonder if they will CGI out Dave’s wrinkles in the final cut

This song gave me chills - I loved it. I know this is a leak and not finished, but they should just leave the video as is - something really cute about it, if you listen to the lyrics

I’ve got chills, also. It’s clearly the best work they’ve done since Alan Wilder left in 1995. If “Precious” is an indicator of what the rest of the album will sound like, I surely won’t be disappointed!
